ThreeAre's is committed to providing the most effective tool which estimates the cradle to gate emissions and can be used to differentiate impacts of using composite materials that make up the roadway.

ThreeAres is the latest flagship project in the green economy project: the sign of an industry committed to the green economy, and at the forefront of efforts to stimulate change for the better.

The aim of this research is to calculate the carbon footprint for different HMA and PCC pavement sections and develop recommendations on how the established footprints can be used for the development of green construction standards. Life-cycle assessment methodologies will be used in this research.
The main objectives of the THREEARES project are to achieve tangible, long‐term benefits for the global environment and to contribute proactively to the shaping of dynamic sustainable road development policies going forward.
